The said activity is in collaboration with the Institute of Environmental Governance (IEG), Tanggol Kalikasan, Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR), US Department of State – Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL), and respective LGUs. Aiming to provide support on structural resources, this program became an avenue to develop the interest and importance of advanced boat building and design.

It was also attended by Engr. Rex B. Basuel – Dean, College of Engineering and Architecture (CEA) and Head of MATIC, Mr. Napoleon Lamarca – Chief, Marine Fisheries Development and Multi-Mission Vessel Operations Center (MFD-MMVOC), and other participants from PSU.

As hands-on training is still on-going, the participants were already able to build a model through the taught processes.

This event aims to (1) build ang maintain a 30-footer FRP Patrol Boat; and (2) provide technical assistance in boat building to LGUs. Other provinces in the region will also have their designated dates for hands-on training, as follows:

La Union : March 8- 18,2022
Ilocos Norte : April 20- 30,2022
