Five academic degree programs of Pangasinan State University were subjected to another cycle of accreditation by the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP) Inc. during the online visit on June 24-26, 2026.
This cycle’s batch programs are from the PSU campuses of Urdaneta City for the 4th Survey Visit (BS Math, BS Information Technology and AB English Language); San Carlos City for the 3rd Survey Visit (BS Office Administration) and the School of Advanced Studies for the 4th Survey Visit (Master in Development Management).
PSU President, Dr. Elbert M. Galas, who is attending the Times Higher Education (THE) Summit in Jakarta, was represented by Vice President Dr. Celeste T. Mercado of the Quality Assurance Division, saying the university aims to see how much of the four programs in two campuses and one graduate school, have developed in terms of its service not only to the academic community but to the larger society.
“The accreditation process assures that the university goals are appropriate and are being accomplished through a viable educational program, and the information surfaced through the accreditation protocol serves as a sound basis for improvement, strategic planning, restructuring and staff development,” President Galas said as read by VP Mercado.
Dr. Weenalei Fajardo (OVPASS), Dr. Razeale G. Resultay (OVPREI), Dr. Jeanilyn Villanueva (OVPAFM) and Dr. Renato Salcedo (OVPLIA) were also present at the host venue, DTNB Convention Hall, to extend their united quest to quality education.
During the opening program on June 24, AACCUP Coordinator for the 3rd and 4th Survey Dr. Cecilio S. Baga of Cebu Technological University, highlighted the importance of accreditation of programs in an academic institution in the quest for innovation and development.
The BS Office Administration program of PSU San Carlos City Campus led by Campus Executive Director Dr. Gudelia M. Samson was subjected to accreditation spearheaded by Team Leader Dr. Trinidad Pasong (Mountain Province State University), Lead Accreditor Dr. Rosemarie San Luis (Eulogio Rodriquez Institute of Science and Technology) and Librarian Accreditor Prof Vickylyn Guieb.
Moreover, PSU Urdaneta City Campus with CED Dr. Renato E. Salecdo welcomed the accreditors for ABEL namely Team Leader Prof. Normita Lugtu (Bataan Peninsula SU) and Lead Accreditor Dr. Marie Candy Celeste (West Visayas SU).
Accreditors for BSIT include Team Leader Dr. Jaime Pulumbarit (Bulacan SU) and Lead Accreditor Dr. Julius Sareno (TUP) while BS Math accreditors are Team Leader Prof. Mildred Sebastian (Cavite SU) and Lead Accreditor Dr. Jackie Urrutia (PUP).
Additionally, the School of Advanced Studies led by Executive Director Dr. Paulo Cenas welcomed accreditors for the MDM program namely Dr. Maria Cristina Ferrer (Team Leader from Nueva Ecija University of S&T) and Dr. Emily Agonos (Lead Accreditor from Bicol University).
The opening program was followed by the meeting per campus, per program. The three-day event will end on June 26 via a closing program.
