Pangasinan State University President Dr. Elbert M. Galas attended a series of key innovation launches on July 3, 2026, in Ilocos Norte, following an invitation from the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Ilocos Region extended by Regional Director Dr. Teresita A. Tabaog.
The invitation is in recognition of PSU’s expanding role in national science and technology initiatives and its growing presence in collaborative, innovation-driven programs – aligned with the broader innovation agenda of DOST under Secretary Dr. Renato U. Solidum Jr.
The event featured the launching of the Regional Yarn Production and Innovation Center (RYPIC), the DOST Ilocos Norte iHUB Circular Economy, and the Bamboo Textile Fiber Innovation Hub (BTFIH)—all geared toward strengthening local industries and advancing sustainable, technology-driven development in the region.
Dr. Galas’ participation reflects PSU’s sustained leadership in research and innovation, reinforcing the University’s commitment to supporting industry growth and regional development.
