Up to P4,000 in cash aid, to be distributed by DSWD

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) will be distributing up to 4,000 pesos in financial assistance to โstudents in crisisโ beginning this weekend.
Social Welfare Secretary Erwin Tulfo announced on Tuesday that the government will be providing financial aids to students starting on August 20 and continuing in the next six Saturdays. His announcement was reiterated and explained further on Wednesday through his official Facebook page.

According to Sec. Tulfo, the following are qualified:
โข Breadwinner
โข Working student
โข Has no family/Living with relative
โข Child of a solo parent
โข Has parents with no source of living
โข Child of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs)
โข Child of Persons With Disabilities (PWDs)
โข Child of HIV victims
โข Victim of Domestic Abuse
โข Victim of natural disasters
He further elaborated that up to three children per household were allowed to apply.

As per the announcement, elementary, junior high school, senior high school, college, and vocational level students can apply for the DSWD educational assistance program.

Based on the announcement, here are the levels of education and their corresponding amounts to be received:
1. Elementary โ Php 1,000
2. Junior High School โ Php 2,000
3. Senior High School โ Php 3,000
4. College or Vocational โ Php 4,000

Those who wish to apply for the program, according to Sec. Tulfo, may either (1) visit the DSWD Central Office or Field Offices as a โWalk-in Applicantโ, or (2) send an e-mail request to CIU.CO@DWSD.GOV.PH.
Here are the documentary requirements:
1. Proof of Enrollment
2. Authorization letter (if the applicant is not available)
3. Valid ID of parent/guardian as well as students who are in college or taking vocational courses.
