Volunteers from Pangasinan State University – Urdaneta City Campus (PSU-UCC) conducted an outreach program for the Ibaloi community on December 23, at San Felipe East, Barangay Kabayawasan, San Nicolas, Pangasinan
The project, organized by the Student Initiative for Communities (SIC) in collaboration with the PSU-UCC Supreme Student Council (SSC), The Technoscope Publications, and PE/NSTP Department, aimed to bring joy to the recipients and foster volunteerism among the students.

The event began with messages from Mr. Mark John Q. Padilla, PSU-UCC Extension Services Coordinator, and Mr. BJ R. Ambat, NSTP Coordinator, both expressed their gratitude and highlighted the importance of reaching out to communities, emphasizing how such efforts strengthen bonds and create lasting connections.

Ms. Janilyn Grace C. Paleb, adviser of The Technoscope Publications, reflected on the journey to the community. “I’m so happy we made it here, especially since it’s my first time visiting. The road wasn’t easy, but the experience was absolutely worth it,” she shared. Mr. Emil Isaac Conde also shared his thoughts: “If one person is happy, everyone should be happy.”
Other speakers including Ms. Diana Velasquez, Editor-in-Chief of The Technoscope Publications, and Ms. Charibhen Hazel Balili, SSC President, both expressed their gratitude, hoping this visit would be the start of many more engagements with the Ibaloi community.

Wrapping up the event, Mr. Charlie Cayabas, Officer-in-Charge of Kabayabasan Elementary School, thanked the PSU-UCC team for their efforts for the Project Bataris 2024.

The program ended with the distribution of gifts, leaving smiles on the faces of the Ibaloi families.
