MAKATI CITY – The team of Information Technology students of Pangasinan State University – Urdaneta City Campus bagged two medals in the 11th IT Skills Olympics Competition held at the University of Makati, Makati City Philippines last November 11, 2022.
Fourth-year IT student Romar Macaraeg snatched the 1st gold medal (Champion) in Web Design Competition against the big school from Adamson University, Manila Philippines (1st runner-up) and STI College Global City (2nd runner-up).
Meanwhile, the participant of C# Programming Dick Lomibao secured 1st place behind its strong rival from the Far Eastern University Institute of Technology (Champion) and University of the East-Manila (2nd runner-up) respectively.
On the other hand, the fourth-year IT student participant in IT Quiz Bee Jebson Ubaldo was able to secure a spot in the Top 12 giving him a ticket to advance in the final round fought against more than 30 colleges and state universities around the Philippines.

The participants were coached by IT Faculty members Mr. Brian Lapitan (Java Programming), Mr. Rhenel Bernisca (C#), Mr. Leo Gabriel Villanueva (Web Design), Mr. Paul Andrew Roa (Networking), Mr. Michael Acosta and Ms. Kathleen De Guzman (IT Quiz Bee), Mr. Ray Magat (PC Disassembly/Assembly), Mr. Arni-rie Tamayo (Application Development), Mr. Joshua Reyes (Esports) supervised by the PSU Urdaneta IT Department Chairperson Mr. Michael Acosta and College of Computing Dean Dr. Frederick Patacsil.
The said competition with the theme: “ICT at the Convergence of Education and Technology in the HyFlex World” was spearheaded by the College of Computing and Information Sciences of the University of Makati, City of Makati, and powered by Cebuana Lhuillier.
