On this date, the delegation from Pangasinan State University (PSU) conducted an institutional benchmarking visit to the University of Economics and Finance (UEF) in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The visit formed part of PSUโ€™s ongoing efforts to strengthen its internationalization agenda and to gain insights from reputable higher education institutions in the region.

The benchmarking activity served as a valuable platform for mutual learning, dialogue, and partnership building between PSU and UEF. University officials and representatives from both institutions engaged in in-depth discussions on best practices in internationalization, particularly strategies that enhance global competitiveness, academic quality, and institutional visibility in the international academic community.

Key areas of discussion included policies and frameworks supporting international academic collaborations, student mobility programs, and faculty development initiatives. Both parties emphasized the significance of student and faculty exchange programs as mechanisms for cross-cultural learning and knowledge sharing, as well as the role of joint research initiatives in advancing innovation, scholarly output, and global research impact. Academic networking and participation in international consortia were also identified as essential components in building sustainable and meaningful institutional partnerships.

The engagement provided PSU delegates with a deeper understanding of UEFโ€™s approaches to managing international partnerships, curriculum alignment with global standards, and support systems for international students and visiting scholars. In turn, PSU shared its own experiences and strategic directions in expanding international linkages and community-oriented academic programs.

The benchmarking visit concluded with both PSU and UEF expressing a strong commitment to explore formal collaborative agreements, including the potential signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and Memorandum of Agreement (MOA). These proposed agreements aim to facilitate long-term cooperation in academics, research, and faculty and student development, thereby strengthening bilateral relations and contributing to the advancement of international higher education collaboration.
